Iran is located in middle east of Asia.In the south of Iran you can see Persian Golf,and in the north has Caspian sea.Iran surrounded 'by the Zagros and Alborz mountain.It's wonderful point about weather in Iran,we have four seasons in one day!
Although Persian is official language in Iran,people speak Kordish,Arabic,Torkish.You can see a lot of cultures live beside each other.
Iran was ruled by king,and Mahammadreza Pahlavi was the last of them.After revolution in 1978 he forced to leave Iran.Many things have changed since of this date.Before this Iran was very strong in tourism,but now some reasons make it weak.for instance world sanction,politics problems and....
Iran has a lot of natural resources .the economy in my country is based on oil.Iran has valuable stones,the best of them is Firuze,it has brilliant color and i love it.
Esfahan and Shiraz are the most famous cities.Alighapoo in Esfahan is the wonderful palace and 33pol and pole Khajoo can show you iranian were very creative and clever in 500 years ago.Perspolis in Shiraz is very famous in the world ,and if you go to Louvre musem in Paris you can see a part of this monument that related to about 2500 years ago.
In north of Tehran, mountain the whole of the winter is covered by snow and in summer is a good place for grass skiing.
The majority of people are Muslim.However,some of them are Zoroastrian,Christin and Jewish.Iran is a unique country because has variety weathers and cultures and religions.Although people in Iran have different ideas and cultures,they live together in a peaceful atmosphere.
Iran is a wonderful country,but the most of people in all around the world have a bad imagination about my country.I think they don' know Iran and Iranian.

ReplyDeleteWell done - you've tried very hard with this. Did you write this at home? It's very long for class work! Your descriptions are really good and you've used adjectives and linkers well.
Lots of information and you've generally grouped it together well. You could think about putting the 2 sentences on language with the paragraph on culture. Weather comes up in 3 paragraphs so maybe they could be grouped together.
Do you know the passive tense? Have a look and see if you can find where the passive should be used. What's the form of the passive? We can have a chat about it when you have looked at this.
We don't normally finish a sentence with 'and .....' unless it is informal writing.
You need 'image' not 'imagination' in the final paragraph.

Well, you are right about when to use the passive. You could also add that the 'doer' or person who does the action, is obvious, e.g. the man was arrested (by the police). We also use passive when we think that the object is more important, (in your example we are interested in the letter and not Sarah).

e.g. Iran is located; Iran was ruled; is based on oil.
To make a passive verb, you need
subject + to be + past participle.
To change the tense, all you change is the 'to be' part. So
present passive is 'the letter is written'
Can you do past passive 'the letter _______ __________'? What about 'The books ______ __________? (plural)
For future we use will + be + p.p.
'The letter will be written.'
To make continuous, we use 'to be' + being + p.p. and we just change the 'to be' part to change the tense. So
present continuous passive is 'the letter is being written'.
Can you do past continuous passive? 'The letter ______ being written.'
What about future continuous passive?
Can you make these passive?
