Literacy levels are going down.why?

By increasing the technology and facilities,people want to have a better life.They would like to have the best one of everythings such as cars,houses etc.Therefore they need to earn more money.They should work for a long time.For instance, when a woman works for a long hours,it makes her tierd and then when she gets back home, she wants to get relax, watch TV, take care her children and have a good time with her family.And for the children,different entertainments such as computer games,chatting on the internet, surfing internet etc take their time.They prefer to have fun instead of reading or writing.
I think beacuse of growing technology and decreasing free time people do not have enough time to study,write and improve their literacy levels.
