Access to satellite and internet television does more harm than good - Sifa

Satellite and internet television are essential in modern life. Some people think that they can get a lot of benefit when using these technologies, while the other think a different way.

First of all, there are varieties of programmes from satellite and internet television. Some of these programmes are not suitable for children. Secondly, more access to television encourages people especially children to watch more. As a result, there is less time for hobbies and family. It becomes worse when this habit affect their study. Furthermore, people become lazy and less physical activities. This will lead to health impairment such as obesity.

Nevertheless, there are several benefits from watching television. Firstly, it gives people access to programmes around the world. We can learn about wildlife and endangered species without go to the jungle or ocean. In addition, this is also a good opportunity to learn about other cultures. Moreover, a huge choice of programmes is also available. It covers for every interest for example sport, music, film, soap opera etc. Finally, we also can learn other language from television. This is because, some of the programmes have a subtitle.

In conclusion, satellite and internet television is quite important in our life. Some people might think that they can not live without entertainment. In my opinion, I think that we must know the limit and control ourself to avoid harm from these technologies.

I am Zaid Ghazi. I am from Al-Mosul, that a beautiful city in north of Iraq. I have been in Malaysia for four months. I like reading special historical books, but I can not read any one of them In English, and Arabic poem. Also I like playing volleyball, dominoes and swimming.

I am studying at the British Council to improve my language. and I want to do IELTS exam,which I want to study at university. In addition I want to be able to read historical books. Because I think the Europeans have more information about what happened in the nineteenth century, so I want to have a good knowledge about that. I will try to get the truth by comparing what I have read in Arabic books and what I will read in European books.

My name is Lily and I'm attending my first class of Academic Writing and Reading course. Its very nice to meet all my new classmate and hope to get to know them better by the end of this course.

I'm a first year university student, studying Accounting and Finance. I'm having my long summer break now and thought of doing some productive with my time like improving my English. The reason I'm doing this course is to improve my writing and reading skills. I haven't been doing much writing for the past year and am worried that I will face difficulties in doing my writing assignments when I move on to my second year. I'm continuing my second year in Bristol, UK and am very excited to explore a new place.

I'm the middle child in my family. I have an older brother who is currently finishing his final year of university in Australia and a younger sister who is still studying in secondary school.

My hobbies are baking, playing badminton and scuba diving. Just like a typical girl, I like to hang out with my friends, goes shopping with them and catch each other up in our daily lives.

I guess that's all about me.

I'm Elham.I'm from Iran.I've been Malaysia for 7 months.I'm going to imigrant to Canada and as well as I'm going to continue my education in Master's Degree probebly in Austrailia.So I have to take IELTS exam to apply for university and learn French for my interviewing in embassy of Canada.Furthermore,I'm goinng to back my country 2 months later.

i'm from EGYPT but my family are living in SAUDI ARABIA .
